Rien de particulier.. Milan travaille à San Bruno et Millbrae et revient tard le soir. Malgré cela, il ira chez Léon Galić pour parler du Fond Pour la Défense de Croatie.
Vendredi 28 Août 1981
Journée paisible. Je fais des courses après avoir accompagné Sophie à l’autobus. Milan travaille à San Bruno et Millbrae et annonce le soir qu’il n’ira pas travailler samedi et dimanche.
Samedi 29 Août 1981
Milan ne travaille pas et rien ne se passe ici. Je fais quelques garages sales (brocante) et dans un je trouve une caméra Polaroid pour 22.50. Dans l’après- midi, nous allons à Tanforan store avec les enfants faire des achats pour l’école.
Dimanche 30 Août 1981
Nous allons à la messe à St. Timothy’s church et madame Bryand me dit avoir entendu ce qui c’était passé avec Milan et me dit que s’il y a quelque chose qu’elle puisse faire pour nous, elle ou plutôt ils, son mari et elle, ils le feront. Nous avons parlé pendant quelque 45 minutes. Les enfants s’impatientent car Sophie et Catherine doivent aller travailler à nettoyer le Croatian Hall à South San Francisco. Elles recevront quelques $30 chacune. Ici, l’après- midi se passe calmement. Les enfants reviennent vers 6h30. Les Pignatelli sont venus nous rendre visite avec Angélique, une de leurs amies. Ils repartent vers 8h30. Nous finissons la soirée en regardant la télé.
Lundi 31 Août 1981
Milan Travail. Zdenka appelle pour me dire que nous sommes invités à l’anniversaire de Zlatko, notre neveu le lendemain. Quoi acheter à un garçon qui a tout ce qu’il peut désirer? J’ accompagne Sophie à l’autobus et dans l’après- midi, au parc avec les enfants. Je rencontre là- bas une Suisse française et cela me fait plaisir de parler francais.
Mardi 1 septembre 1981
Journée paisible. Milan m’a dit le matin que nous avons rendez-vous avec Dennis a 6h le soir. A 11h30, nous partons de la maison pour assister à la “Party d’anniversaire” de notre neveu Zlatko et restons jusqu’à environ 2h, après avoir mangé du Kentucky Fried Chicken, légumes et gâteaux. Nous nous dépêchons de partir d’une part parce que Rafo nous met presque dehors pour qu’il puisse faire sa sieste et ensuite Catherine doit babysit chez le voisin et doit rentrer à la maison vers 2h. A 4h30 Milan arrive, prend une douche en vitesse et nous partons. Évidemment, nous nous égarons mais, espérons qu’un jour la voiture saura arriver chez Dennis toute seule, d’elle-même.
Nous arrivons vers 6h et nous ne parlons pas beaucoup. Il nous donne un carton plein du transcript du procès de Ivan Čale et de 5 autres arrêtés au mois de décembre 1980. Il y a au moins 2 semaines à lire et Dennis nous montre la liste des charges que Milan a contre lui. D’une charge cela monte à 15. Mais Dannis nous dit et cela nous fait rire “Ces charges là, pas de problèmes”. Il nous donne aussi les affidavits des Search Warrant du Croatian Club in Chicago, Ivan Čale maison a New York etc…
Ensuite, son fils arrive et nous décidons d’aller au restaurant pour le dîner. Dennis téléphone tout d’abord à Velimir Sulić pour lui demander le nom de telephone de Filip Šola en relation avec le FBI, ensuite Milan téléphone à Milan Cvitanović car Dennis a l’intention d’aller dimanche prochain au Croatian Hall 415 Grand Avenue à South San Francisco en l’honneur du Croatian Soccer Club soirée. Nous rentrons vers 10h30.

Ništa posebno. Vodim Catherine kod zubara u 1:30, a poslijepodne ću provesti na plaži u Coyote Point jer je vrlo odličan dan. Vraćamo se oko 4:30 i navečer se ništa posebno ne događa.
Srijeda, 26. kolovoza 1981.
Miran dan. Navečer Sophie mora ići na “Rođendansku zabavu iznenađenja” u Foster City u 6 navečer, a u 5, Dennis i Judy nas trebaju doći posjetiti prije nego što odu na večeru s prijateljima u Hillsborough. Milan mu je pokazao pismo koje je primio svećenik crkve sv. Grgura iz San Matea u kojem se optužuju časne sestre i fra. Mate Markota da ove časne sestre i fra. Mate Markota uče hrvatsku djecu kako ubijati Srbe te da su dio mafije itd… No, budući da je pismo bilo anonimno, poslano iz Chicaga od neke srpske organizacije, bez adrese, bez ičega, tu odvjetnik Dennis kaže da ne može puno učiniti. Ponudili smo im šampanjac i voće i oko 5:30 navečer. Ja sam otpratila Sophie u Foster City. Kad sam se vratila, bilo je između 6:15 i 6:30. Dajemo ček od 10.000 Dennisu, a oko 7:15, oni odlaze. Milan ih prati u Lakeview. Kad se Milan vratio, naravno, glad ga je prošla, podgrijana večera više nema okusa.
Četvrtak, 27. kolovoza 1981
Ništa posebno. Milan radi u San Bruno i Millbrae i vraća se kasno navečer. Unatoč tome, otići će do Leona Galića na razgovor glede skupljanja dobrovoljnih priloga u FOND ZA OBRANU HRVATSKE.
Petak, 28. kolovoza 1981
Miran dan. Otišla sam u kupovinu nakon što sam otpratila Sophie do autobusa. Milan radi u San Bruno i Millbrae. Milan mi navečer reče da u subotu i nedjelju neće raditi.
Subota 29. kolovoza 1981
Milan ne radi i ništa se ovdje ne događa. Ja sam otišla u jedan dućan za licitaciju i tu nađem snimaći aparat Polaroid za $22,50. Poslijepodne idemo s djecom u trgovinu Tanforan za djeci kupiti što im je potrebno za školu.
Nedjelja 30. kolovoza 1981
Idemo na misu u crkvu svetog Timoteja i gospođa Bryant mi kaže da je čula što se dogodilo s Milanom i kaže mi da ako išta može učiniti za nas, to će rado učiniti ona, odnosno oni, njezin muž i ona. Pričamo nekih 45 mi. Djeca postaju nestrpljiva jer Sophie i Catherine moraju ići čistiti dvoranu u South San Francisco. Svaka od njih će dobiti oko 30 dolara. Evo, poslijepodne prolazi tiho. Djeca se vraćaju oko 6:30. Pignatelli su nas došli posjetiti s Angelinom, jednom od njihovih prijateljica. Večer smo završili gledajući TV. Oni odlaze oko 8:30. poslije završetka filma.
Ponedjeljak, 31. kolovoza 1981
Milan Radi. Zdenka me zove da smo pozvani kod Zlatka, sutradan na rođendan našeg nećaka. Što kupiti dječaku koji ima sve što može poželjeti? Otpratim Sophie do autobusa, a poslijepodne u park s djecom. Tamo upoznam Švicarkinju francuskog podrijetla i veseli me što smo govorili francuski.
Utorak, 1. rujna 1981
Miran dan. Milan mi je ujutro rekao da imamo dogovor s Dennisom u 6 sati navečer. U 11:30 ujutro odlazimo iz kuće kako bismo prisustvovali “rođendanskoj zabavi” našeg nećaka Zlatka i ostajemo do oko 2 sata poslijepodne, nakon što smo jeli Kentucky Fried Chicken, povrće i kolače. S jedne strane nami se žuri ići a s druge kao da nas Rafo skoro izbaciva van, jer da on želi imati dnevni počinak, (sieste) a onda Catherine mora čuvati dijete kod susjeda i oko 2 poslijepodne mora kući. U 4:30 dolazi Milan, brzo se tušira i krećemo. Bili smo se izgubili u gradu Oakland gdje stanuje naš odvjetnik Dennis, ali smo se i smijali i rekli da će jednog dana naše auto moći sam stići do Dennisa, jer smo toliko puta sa istim autom došli kod denisa.
Dolazimo oko 6 sati i ne pričamo puno. Dennis nam daje kutiju punu transkripta suđenja Ivana Cale i još petorice uhićenih s njim u prosincu 1980. Imat ćemo najmanje 2 tjedna za čitanje i Dennis nam pokazuje popis optužbi koje su protiv Milana podignute. Od prve krivilne točke sada ih ima 15. Smijući se Dannis nam kaže ovako: “Ovo krivične točke za mene nema problema”. Daje nam i izjave pod prisegom “Nalog premetačine” Hrvatskog kluba u Chicagu, kuće Ivana Čale, u Njujorku i kod drugih…
Zatim dolazi njegov sin i odlučujemo otići u restoran na večeru. Dennis prvo telefonira Velimiru Suliću da ga pita za telefonski broj Filipa Šole u vezi s FBI-em, zatim Milan telefonira Milanu Cvitanoviću jer Dennis iduće nedjelje namjerava ići u Hrvatski Dom 415 Grand Avenue South San Francisco na večer za Hrvatski Nogometni Klub. Vraćamo se kući oko 10:30 sati navečer.

Nothing definite. I am taking Catherine to the dentist at 1:30 and will spend the afternoon at Coyote Point as it is a very cloudy day. We return around 4:30 and nothing special happens in the evening.
Wednesday, August 26, 1981
Peaceful day. In the evening, Siophie has to go to a “Surprise Birthday Party” in Foster City at 6am, and at 5am, Dennis and Judy have to come visit us before they go out to eat with friends in Hillsborough. It is about a letter received by the priest of the Church of St. Gregory of San Mateo, in which the nuns and Father Mate Markot are accused of teaching Croatian children how to kill Serbs and of being part of the mafia, etc… However, since the letter was anonymous, sent from Chicago by a Serbian organization, without an address, without nothing, there’s not much attorney Dennis can do about it. I offer them champagne and fruit and around 5:30 am, get ready to escort Sophie to Foster City. When I came back, it was between 6:15 and 6:30. We give the check for 10,000 to Dennis, around 7:15, they leave. Milan follows them to Lakeview. When Milan returns, of course, hunger has passed him, the reheated dinner no longer tastes good.

Nothing special.. Milan works in San Bruno and Millbrae and comes back late at night. nevertheless, he will go to Leon Galić to talk about Fundraising for Defence of Croatia

Peaceful day. I went shopping after walking Sophie to the bus. Milan works in San Bruno and Millbrae and reports in the evening that he will not work on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday, August 29, 1981
Milan is not working and nothing is happening here. I go to some dirty garages (flea market) and in one I find a polaroid for 22.50. In the afternoon, we go with the children to the Tanforon store to shop for school.
Sunday, August 30, 1981
We go to Mass at St. Timothy’s Church and Mrs. Bryand tells me that she has heard what happened to Milan and tells me that if there is anything she can do for us, she will do it, that is, they, her husband, and her. We are talking about 45 of us. The kids are getting impatient as Sophie and Catherine have to go clean the hall at SSF. Each will receive about $30. Here, the afternoon passes quietly. The children return around 6:30. The Pignatellis came to visit us with Angelique, one of their friends. They leave around 8:30 am. We end the evening watching TV.

Milan work. Zdenka called me to tell me that we are invited the next day to our nephew Zlatko’s birthday party. What to buy a boy who has everything he could want? I accompany Sophie to the bus, and in the afternoon to the park with the children. There I meet a French-Swiss man and he makes me happy that I speak French.
Tuesday, September 1, 1981
Peaceful day. Milan told me in the morning that we have an appointment with Dennis at 6 o’clock in the evening. At 11:30 am we leave the house to attend our nephew Zlatko’s “birthday party” and stay until about 2 am, after eating Kentucky Fried Chicken, vegetables and cookies. On one hand, we are in a hurry to leave because Rafo almost kicks us out to take a nap, and then Catherine has to babysit the neighbor’s child and has to go home around 2 am. At 4:30 Milan arrives, takes a quick shower and we leave. We’re obviously lost, but hopefully one day the car will be able to make it to Dennis, alone.
We arrive around 6 pm and don’t talk much. He gives us a box full of transcripts of the trial of I. Cale and five others arrested in December 1980. We have at least 2 weeks to read and Dennis shows us the list of charges Milan has filed against him. From 1 charge it goes up to 15. But Dannis tells us and laughs: “Those charges there, no problem”. He also gives us statements under oath from the “Search Warrant” of the Croatian Club in Chicago, the house of Ivan Čala in New York and others…
