The entrance is through a double door. The door was in the middle of the hall, i.e. the wall. To the left and right are benches that could seat a dozen people. In the middle was a passage a meter wide and something, which led to the judge’s seat. There were about a dozen rows of benches on each side, which could mean that two hundred people could sit. In front of the back row was a wooden wall, a fence, about a meter and 20 cm high, which was a sign that no one could go beyond that fence. There at the bottom of that passage was a gate through which only a judge, court staff, prosecutors, jury, court recorders, FBI, two interpreters, the accused Croatian (10) ten, and their lawyers could pass to the courtroom. I am putting in order how we have been sitting are: (1) Ante Ljubas, (2) Ranko Primorac, (3) Mile Markic, (4) Andjelko Jakic, (5) Ivan Misetic the last one to the wall, now turning to the right (6) Milan Bagaric, (7) Vinko Logarusic, (8) Miro Biosic, (9) Mile Boban and (10) Drago Sudar. The jury was on the right and consisted of 12 jurors, in two rows of six, and the back row of six as assistants. To the right, one step up, there is a witness chair. There is a table and a microphone in front of the witness so that he can be heard better when he speaks. In front of the witness stand is a table for the public prosecutor from where he speaks and accuses. To the right of the witness is a Judge who give the orders and controls the courtroom. I hope I portrayed the position of the courtroom the best I knew and remembered.
In brief summaries, I wrote down each witness, name and surname, what he / she was and what he / she testified about, and for how long, etc. I have several of these written records. On one occasion judge Constance Motley called me through my attorney Dennis Roberts to show her what I was writing. When I told her that I am writing all this for our Croatian history, because for me this process is of historical significance, and that one day I will write about this. When my lawyer explained everything nicely to her, she approved of my writing so I was never bothered with my writing again. Many of my notes were used by Drago Sudar in his reports to Croatian newspapers, especially Hrvatski Tjednik from Australia. Drago was sitting to my left in the courtroom. I defended myself from freedom while Drago did not. That is why I would give notes to Dragi and he, while in detention and solitude, would write a report from the court. Drago Sudar presented his reports from the court very faithfully and convincingly.
